Mr. Chuck Capps is a native of Myrtle Beach, SC. He received his Associate degree in Music from Brevard College in 1998. He then received his Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from East Carolina University in 2001. He completed his student teaching at Rocky Mount Sr. High in Rocky Mount, NC. Mr. Capps is pursuing his Masters Degree in Music Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. He taught in South Carolina for 6 years and has just finished his 1st here at Western.

Under his direction his bands have received numerous Superior and Excellent ratings in Marching Band, Concert Festivals and Jazz Ensemble Festivals. He has also developed Chamber ensembles that compete throughout the southeast. His students take part in the University of South Carolina Band Clinic in February, South Carolina Governors All-Star Band, Winthrop Invitational Band Clinic in November and UNCG Carolina Band Festival & Conductors’ Conference in February every year. His students are also active participants in the following summer music camps: East Carolina University, University of South Carolina, Furman University, University of Georgia and University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

Mr. Capps is an active clinician and adjudicator in North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia. He is the owner of CCC3designs, a marching band show design company. He has been designing drill for 6 years for groups in North Carolina and South Carolina.

Mr. Capps resides in Greensboro with his wife Ginny, daughter Carlee and their two dogs.
